BIO
Kallie Cheves is an artist and art educator based in Boerne, Texas. She holds a B.A. in Studio Art from Trinity University and an M.F.A. in Studio Art from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Cheves creates mixed media sculptures and photographic installations that explore themes of generational memory, domestic dynamics, and emotional inheritance. Drawing inspiration from surrealist traditions, her work blends tactile materials—such as silk, thread, and paper—with photographic imagery to investigate vulnerability and the ways we construct space for protection, care, and resilience. Through symbolism and material layering, her sculptures become quiet tributes to personal and collective histories, often referencing family, healing, and the body. Cheves has exhibited widely across Texas and the United States, with international exhibitions including a show in Cork, Ireland. As both an artist and educator, she is passionate about fostering connection, creativity, and empathy through art.
